Just started using it today and it is, in fact, quite beautiful. I've been a long-time UltraEdit user on Windows and Textmate on the Mac. Very nicely done.

I'd like to see more advanced "search/replace" options, however. Search/replace through all open files or within a directory on one's harddrive would be nice.

Hi,

Congratulations to your nice reviews! Your app deserves all the good publicity.

I'm currently at a friend's house. He's got his MacBook in his lap, coding something in TextMate.

And, since I left my MacBook Pro at home, I'm stuck here at his PC. So I took the opportunity to try Sublime Text (first heard about it on Twitter: http://twitter.com/al3x/status/4693798899).

Two things are on my mind:

1). Wonderful work! Exciting. Cool looks, and I really like the concept. I've only tried Sublime Text for thirty minutes, but it's really a nice text editor.

Finally, there's a wonderful text editor for Windows, too!

I won't compare it to other top-notch text editors, like TextMate, SubEthaEdit and Coda — available exclusively for Mac OS X.

They are all incredible — they are refined and easy to use — yet extremely powerful.

Sublime Text appears both exciting and promising. It's a fresh concept. But it's not fair to compare it to editors you've used for years...

2). Do you have any plans of porting Sublime Text to Mac OS X? That would be wonderful, and I for one would buy it at once.

Currently, I wouldn't buy Sublime Text. It's reasonable priced, it's not that. It's just that I use Mac so much more.

And a lot of (web) developers do. Also, Mac OS X users are not afraid of buying great apps. We find cool, unique apps and if we like them, we buy them. We're used to that. It's that simple.

I really think you'd benefit from making a Mac OS X version of Sublime Text.

So, if you ever do consider making a Mac version of Sublime Text, please let me know. :)

Amazing editor. This seems to be the silver bullet for a lightweight, rich programming editor.

Fantastic work, Jon. (I may even buy a license!)

There isn't a separate download for a portable version, but Sublime Text does support running off of a USB key - just copy the Program Files\Sublime Text directory to the USB key after installing, and run with the --data flag (see the FAQ for more details)
