Package manager via http instead of https?

Package manager via http instead of https?

Postby garage_logician on Thu Nov 15, 2012 5:43 pm

I am unable to browse or install packages at the office via the package manager. I can however use git and clone the installs I want, if I change the url from https to http. I would like to have the convenience of PackageManager and suspect that it may work if I change the protocol to http.

To do this do I need to change the Package Control.py file or is there a setting I can use?

Thanks!

Try installing the testing version. If you have a proxy, be sure to set the http_proxy, https_proxy, proxy_username and proxy_password settings.

I have installed the testing version and am still not able to list or install any packages, although I can see the ones I have manually installed. There is no proxy at the office so I am not sure why the https does not work...
