transfer settings to new machine

I've got a new computer, and I want to transfer all the settings and preferences.. Is there a good way to do this? What is the best way?

On old PC:
Preferences-> browse packages. Go up a folder then Right click-> add to archive

On new PC:
Right click on the archive -> extract files. Obviously, in the same folder (clicking on browse packages it's the best way to find your settings folder)
