this entire idea is good but the solution is bad. Version control should not be used as either release distribution OR bug tracking. Version control is for VERSION control.

What we REALLY REALLY need here is for Jon to open up a bug reporting/feature request forum.

What are you talking about :?:

Bug tracking feature of Github has nothing to do with version control.
The version control of github is git, which is not used at all here.

That would be pretty messed up. Forums aren't meant to be used to bug tracking/reporting. Github's issue tracker is already almost perfect for this.

I suggest updating the start post of this thread with information that points directly to the issues repo (with the readme) so that users can actually find the repo at first glance. By that I mean to make it more straight forward as in "Go here and read the README" or similar. Probably also add a notice about the requirement of a github account to create or comment issues.

Edit: Yet another idea: What about using github's gh_pages feature (dunno how it's called otherwise) which could then directly link to the issues while describing all the important stuff. Users don't need to know about the source code structure or anything since there is nothing to know about. README should reflect what this page says or link to it instead. Volunteers first.

Usually that would be "trivial". "tweak" feels wrong, e.g. in this case: https://github.com/SublimeText/Issues/issues/26

And "critical" would be above "major", which is better than "crash". There might be bugs which are really serious but doesn't result in a crash.

I don't see any benefit, if linking to https://github.com/SublimeText/Issues there is nothing you need to know about...

@FichteFoll, made quick edit of item0. Check and let me know. : )

@schlamar, totally, "trivial" looks more appropriated, and the addition of "critical" looks like a good idea, for heavy bugs.

Just renamed them, was a "trivial" change anyway. Btw, did anyone else notice that the secerity tags are alphabetically sorted in the correct order? Quite handy.
