Avoiding multiple open copies of one file

#1

Is there a way to configure ST3 to open only one copy of a file by default?

I use multiple splits, and if I use the fuzzy-finder to specify a file, I’d rather switch to that file if it’s already open, rather than opening a second (or third) copy.

Having the same file open twice in side-by-side splits can be useful, but I’d prefer to avoid accidentally cluttering my splits’ tab bars with multiple copies of a file.

I’m not aware of a setting in ST itself but there are some plugins that will do fuzzy search specifically for files open in tabs. Here is one for ST 3 sublime.wbond.net/packages/Tab%20Filter
