If I purchase a license, do I purchase it for sublime text 2, sublime text 3 or both versions?

In case I’m purchasing sublime text 2’s license, is there also a way to buy a license for sublime text 3 in advance?

According to the FAQ if you buy a license its good for sublime text 3 when it comes out.

You definitely need to buy a license in order to buy this sublime text. As far as I observed, it has not been sold in the market now
