Caret painting out of sync with file position

I'm using 2089 on Win 7 x64 (font options empty, caret style wide). After the second time I press ctrl-m to go to a matching bracket the caret isn't painted in the new location, but I can see that the location is changing because the highlight in the gutter moves, and if I hit an arrow key it will jump to the other location.

Speaking of cursors:
when i press ctrl+f for find & replace (i change the default shortcut), the text in the "find what" field is selected (so i can just start typing). And i consider this is the right behavior.
If i press tab, however, the text in the "replace with" field is not selected. The cursor is placed at the and of the text (and i have to press ctrl+a to select the text). Is there a setting for this? i'm doing it wrong?
