Yeah, absolutely. The people that love that shit (I count myself among them, even though I’m on Windows) love that shit so much, they’ll likely not use a product if they consider it ugly. The people that don’t care about that shit, well, they don’t care and never will. So you gain the customers who do care, and don’t harm the ones that don’t. Makes perfect business sense.

It seems strange, but it’s true. Frankly, I’m tired of being recommended certain editors (I won’t name names but they usually run on cough Java) that are powerful but an absolute pain to use. Or look at. And like it or not, looks are a big part of usability.
