Automatically selecting "selected text" button in Find

Automatically selecting "selected text" button in Find

Postby handycam on Thu Mar 22, 2012 1:08 pm

This is really annoying.

Whenever I need to do a find/replace, I select some text, hit command-E to add this to the text to search for.

Then command-option-f to bring up find/replace.

I go through typing my replace stuff, and hit "replace all" and the first one only goes -- since the "selected text" button is active, I presume since I have a selection.

I happen to have a selection, but I expected to search the whole document. I'd rather MANUALLY turn on "search selection only".

Bump.

I am really finding this to be a pain. As I said, many times I hit "replace all" only to have one replacement -- since "selected text" was on. Is there a preference?
