Is there a way to change folder name appearance in the side bar?

When you browse/scan a large project, with several folders opened, it sometimes gets hard to distinguish folders from files.

I’m not sure what would be the best way to do it, but I would try: bold face, different font, change line background color.

Is there an xml theme file for the side bar? I searched the preference folder but haven’t found any.
