I come across lots of tutorials / blogs that talk about package installation using the command palette (e.e.g wbond.net/sublime_packages/package_control/usage), however when i do cmd+shift+p, and type ‘package’ I am only presented with one option: Browse Packages. I can’t install or do anything else with the command palette.

Am i missing some options?

Those are commands from a plugin. In order to use them, you have to install Package Control: wbond.net/sublime_packages/packa … stallation and the commands with appear after a restart.
