Thoughts on a sublime-text web app

#1

I love Sublime Text 2. I think it would be simply awesome if Sublime Text 2 was a web application that worked specifically in Google Chrome (but not necessarily exclusively). There a lot of benefits to a web app vs a desktop app, connectivity, cloud syncing, etc. The web app could use Google Drive or Dropbox as a means to store and edit files from. If possible, it would be nice to somehow have the web app (chrome packaged app) access my file system, like how ST2 currently behaves.

These are just some thoughts that I figured I’d throw out there. Thanks for listening.

You want the web app to access your local filesystem? Sound’s like a security hole to me.

Why not use sublime locally with a remote project in “the cloud” ?

  1. use sublime portable
  2. store settings & your project files in your dropbox/skydrive/g.drive account
  3. enjoy.

Sublime is already cross platform, so you won’t have any problems
