Sublime Forum

Previewing locally

#1

Hello all,

I am new to sublime text 2 and really love it! However I am really surprised there isn’t a way out of the box to simply preview sites in different browsers locally.

I tired these methods,
https://forum.sublimetext.com/t/preview-in-browser-on-local-test-server-with-localhost/5059/6&hilit=localhost#p29879

https://forum.sublimetext.com/t/how-to-view-in-browser/3225/6&hilit=view+in+browser#p18015

This works! However, when you edit a file, the shortcut stops working!
Any help would be appreciated!

As an aside, I am a coda user and really liked the update. But I am surprised how there isn’t a treasure trove of “packages” like sublime. That was one of the reasons I took a look at sublime. I guess there is a untapped market for an editor that has a lot of useful functions like sublime and one that has some candy and good looks like coda…Not to distill them in such simplistic camps…

Did you try LiveReload?
github.com/dz0ny/LiveReload-sublimetext2

There is also Prevu:
github.com/Nijikokun/Prevu

Both are available via Package Control:
wbond.net/sublime_packages/package_control
