Save in background / keep working while file is saving?

#1

My workflow is:
SFTP to server I’m working on
Open files from server in Sublime
???
Profit!

When it comes to saving files, sometimes if the connection is a bit slow Sublime greys out for a few seconds then comes back when the saving is complete.
My question: Is there a way to disable that greying out and work on a different file while one is saving?

I’ve tried the SFTP package in the past but it doesn’t really offer me anything I can’t do with Ubuntu / Nautilus so I removed it and I don’t think it supports what I want anyway.

Is there some option in Prefrences that I missed that allows what I want?
Or is there some other way to accomplsh what I’m looking for?

+1 to this. I use Ubuntu and currently open files in gedit from Nautalis. When I click save in gedit, it takes a couple seconds, but the editor does not lock up like Sublime, so I am able to scroll through code or make other edits. This is the only thing stopping me from registering a copy of Sublime and using it as my full-time editor.
