The Python syntax highlighting is broken on one of my files. It appears that it doesn't handle complicated string literals correctly.
Attached is a screenshot of an example.

Bump.
Any progress on this? I was planning to buy Sublime Text, but seeing bugs like this languish for months with no response is making me reconsider.
P.S. This is on Windows 7 32bit, Sublime Text version 2.01 build 2217

Is there any way I can fix this myself and then give the corrected syntax file back?

Yes, presumably you'd edit Packages/Python/Python.tmLanguage.
