Hi,

I have been having this strange problem for a few days now:

I have vintage mode enabled. When I want to get out of insert mode, i press Esc, but it wont do it, i checked the console and debugged, when i press Esc, i see the exit_insert_mode line, but it wont really go to command mode.

A few steps to understand the problem better:
I disabled and enabled Vintage with the “vintage_start_in_command_mode”: true ( without any restart of sublime ). It went to command mode fine, i could switch to visual mode and back to command mode fine, but i simply couldnt switch to insert mode with pressing i. After i restarted sublime, it didnt start in command mode but in insert mode.

I need help to fix this issue.

found the problem, and i think this is a bug. it is a localization setting problem. ( btw i remarked that i also couldnt do package control: install )

after starting subl with LANG=C subl, all of the issues are solved. Fix the bug, please
