Sublime Text 3 (3033) and Hard Links

Sublime Text 3 (3033) and Hard Links

Postby charley on Fri Jun 07, 2013 4:40 am

Sublime Text 3 does not seem to support hard links properly at least on windows.

Code: Select all
echo alpha > a.txt
mklink /h b.txt a.txt

Then edit b.txt (or a.txt) in ST3

It breaks the hard link.

ST2 works fine.

sorry I couldn't find an edit button. I just tested it with 3037 and it has the same behaviour.

Try disabling this option:
Code: Select all
    // Save via writing to an alternate file, and then renaming it over the
    // original file.
    "atomic_save": true,

Damn, this is a severe issue.
ST must at least give a warning about the lost of the link.
