expired build, sublime text 2 not available?

expired build, sublime text 2 not available?

Postby mjmitche on Sun Jul 14, 2013 3:45 am

Hi, I tried to open Sublime Text 2 from my terminal but got the following message
Code: Select all
"This build of Sublime Text 2 has expired. Please update to a newer once at http://sublimetext.com"

When I navigated to sublimetext.com it said that Sublime Text 3 (which is available for download) is in beta, but I couldn't find a link to Sublime Text 2. Does this mean we're forced to use a beta version? I'm not familiar with the idea of a 'build experiencing' without any warning such that I can't even launch the software anymore. Are all Sublime Text users experiencing this at the same time around the world?

Yes, Sublime Text 2.0.1 version has expired but There is a newer version of ST2(2.0.2). All sublime 2 users are being enforced to use the latest version. But you mayalso use ST3 beta.. It good... I am using it...

This is baaad stuff guys at Sublime Text! You let a build expire and expect from us consumers that we find out ourselves we should manually change the "2.0.1" to "2.0.2" in the Windows download links. We should not have to!
Fix your download links when you choose to let a "build expire".

Yup, it is at "http://www.sublimetext.com/2".

It is at the first post, I almost missed it too. I guess reading the emphasized text "Sublime Text 3 is currently ... " made me not read the rest and headed to the 2nd posting. "Version 2.0.2"

On a side note, if you are on Linux, upgrading is as simple as deleting the old copy pointing the shortcut to the new files.

I just visited the site, and was forced to update the url myself.

I'm not sure where "it is at the first post" but I only see the version 2.0.1 on the download page.

I suggest this should be updated.

Hi everyone!

I'm very new to Latex and I am a little bit lost after this update.
I was using sublime text 2 and I had the same problem you are reporting here.
I downloaded the update, but the option "build" is still not working... I can edit my files and so on, but creating the pdf is not possible.
Do you know what might be wrong?

Thanks a lot!

Refresh the page guys...

The link to 2.0.2 is there but it took a Ctrl-F5 to get it

Do these forced updates also apply to licensed versions? The 2.0.2 version is frustratingly slow for me (over sshfs). I've been feeling a bit guilty about not jumping in and buying after testing driving for a few months, but now I'm glad I waited. If all builds expire, that just doesn't sit well with me.
