I have the same issue on Ubuntu 14.04 and Sublime Text 3 3059.
Any keys that are used to create accentuated characters such as à á ã â ä cannot be used in Sublime Text (trying to write the same example in sublime results in `a ´a ~a ^a ¨a).

Please fix this! I’m currently using Sublime to type English, so it’s no big deal, but It can’t really be my main day-to-day editor with this glaring omission.
