How to make color theme work for plain text and markdown

#1

Hi, surprisingly nobody has this problem? The color theme works well for different file types: .html, .js, .css, .py, .sql, .sh, etc. but NOT for plain text like .txt and .md, I have tried a few color themes, the defaults and a few others (Predawn, Flatland, MarkdownEditing, Seti, …). My sublime version is 3083. Any help?

Thanks.

…what would it do for plain text?

For markdown, you can install a package.

What do you mean “it doesn’t work well”?

I use packagecontrol.io/packages/MarkdownEditing.

I also have a custom markdown syntax definition for my todo-like lists.

The color theme has no effect on the plain text no matter which color theme you choose, and the background of plain text is very irritating.

After re-installing and re-trying different settings/packages, I found the problem is caused by the MarkdownEditing package, remove it, things work well again.
