I was using Sublime Text 2 unregistered and once I save a file as a type (php or inc for example), I got color coding.
Then I purchased the license.
Any new files I create since purchasing and entering the license…no color coding.
Previous files still have the color coding, and if I open them and edit them, I still get the color coding…but not on any new files. I have closed and re-opened the program…no change.
Are you opening existing files (with an extension) or creating new untitled files? It’s a bit unclear based on your post. Your first statement states you are working with files that exist on disk, and have an extension. The second statement sounds like you are creating brand new untitled files.
If it’s a new untitled files, the default syntax is plain text. There are a number of plugins to change this behavior though. If you are working with an untitled file, the command palette (or syntax selection in the bottom right corner) can be used to set the syntax coloring.
