Disabling sidebar animations

Is it possible to disable sidebar animations?

I'd like to see this too. The animations (at least the way they work now) are quite distracting. If anything, the animation should be "unfold' rather than "slide in". So the expansion appears to animate down and up as the outline view item expands. Sliding in horizontally doesn't seem like a natural thing to expect.

Exactly.
Unfold animation would look much better. The reason I see agains this is on long list of files.

But it would be expectable at least for an option to disable animations to exist.
