Remapping the Caps-Lock key in OS X?

#1

Hi Sublimers’

I’m still new to Sublime, so pardon me if this is a trivial question… I’ll try to keep it short (and hopefully simple)

I’ll really like to “remap” the Caps-Lock key to bring up the auto-completion menu (default: Ctrl+Space). Is that possible, and if it is, how?

I have already modified other keyboard shortcuts, so know how to do that
I’m running OS X Lion.

You will have to remap capslock system-wide to accomplish this. You can remap capslock to any other modifier key (shift, command, option, control) using System preferences (Keyboard > Keyboard > Modifier Keys). Sublime cannot map commands to a single modifier key though (it would have to be a modifier + some other key).

Your best option is to use KeyRemap4Macbook to map caps lock to a function key (e.g. F5) and change your sublime user keybindings to map autocomplete to the function key.
