Extra characters being added

#1

When using Sublime for Mac, there are times my text files are opened in Hex format instead of ascii. When opening the same file using a text editor, I see that Sublime has added a bunch of extra characters to my file. The characters are the equivalent to CHR(22) - (please see the screenshot)

How can I get this to stop? I would hate to have to give up Sublime as I purchased it and really like it.

It’s unlikely that Sublime Text itself it adding these, as there have been no other reports of this behavior. It could be caused by a plugin, however.

The current beta, build 2181 won’t display these control characters, although if they’re near the beginning of the file they can cause it to be opened in hex mode. If you install the current nightly build (sublimetext.com/nightly), then you’ll be able to see them within Sublime Text, and verify for yourself if they’re being added of it they were always there.
