Focus Group Questions

#1

Two questions, which will hopefully be quick. I’m using build 2181 on OSX, and I’m using a theme I imported from TextMate.

  1. I’m having a lot of trouble distinguishing my active buffer from the inactive ones in a 3-column layout. The only thing that looks different is that the current line highlighting is a bit darker in the active one. It’s making it difficult for me when I come back after being in the terminal or another application for a while
  2. When I open a file which is open in one column while focus is in another it opens a second copy of it. Is there a setting which would let me jump to the already open one?

Thanks!

  1. You may be able to make theme-related changes, but I’m not sure.
  2. If you figure out how to do this, I’d love to know! I don’t think it’s possible, but I do think a plugin to do so would actually be pretty easy (when you open a buffer, see if it exists somewhere else; if it does, close the new one and focus the old one). You’d get some sweet flickering though as the buffer opened and closed.
