Blank document while opening from terminal

I'm not sure why this happens but sometimes if I fire up the `subl` shortcut from terminal I usually get just a blank document 40% of the time. It'll then only load the doc if I fire the terminal command again while there's a blank doc open. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
