I like to use Full Screen view a lot on OS X. But sometimes I want to create a new file in my regular workspace. Is there any way to do this without being forced into the existing window (which is in full screen mode)? Even selecting Sublime Text will force me into that full screen window.

Something as simple as right-clicking on the dock icon and selecting “New File” would be great.

My apologies if this request is already solved or already exists; I couldn’t find it.
