Visual feedback when a changed file is reloaded

Hi!
It'd be nice to have some kind of visual feedback when a file is reloaded, for example a selection around the changed parts that gently pulses twice, then disappears.
The files I'm working with are regular XMLs, and they change every few minutes. The changes are not really noticeable, though, so a little help at finding them would be much appreciated.
