Hi wuub,

First: thanks for the awesome tool. I love SublimeREPL.

Do you know of a way to use R remotely over SSH? I've tried messing with the default_extend_env variable, to no avail. I'd love to run SublimeText on my Mac and dump code to a linux server.

Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply:

In this file:
https://github.com/wuub/SublimeREPL/blo ... blime-menu

try changing lines 20-21 to

Code: Select all
"cmd": {"linux": ["R", "--interactive", "--no-readline"],
            "osx": ["ssh", "yourlogin@yourserver", "R", "--interactive", "--no-readline"],

It's a hack but somehow works for me :)

Edit:

Also:
Code: Select all
"cmd": {"linux": ["R", "--interactive", "--no-readline"],
            "osx": ["ssh", "-Y",  "yourlogin@yourserver", "R", "--interactive", "--no-readline"],

might or might not forward graphical output. I didn't try it myself.

SublimeREPL 1.2.2 is now available.

1) configuration REPL view settings can now be configured to change the defaults:
Code: Select all
"repl_view_settings": {
      "translate_tabs_to_spaces": false,
      "auto_indent": false,
      "smart_indent": false,
      "indent_subsequent_lines": false,
      "detect_indentation": false,
      "auto_complete": false,
      "line_numbers": false,
      "gutter": false
   },

2) configuration Build system variables related to $project(_path|_name|...) can be accessed after turning on a setting:
Code: Select all
   // this settings exposes additional variables in repl config files, especially
   // those related to sublime projects that are not available through standard API
   // WARNING: this will switch your build system back to Automatic each time a REPL
   // is started so beware!
   "use_build_system_hack": false

3) bugfix up/down history arrows now don't break autocomplete
4) bugfix utf-8 output in python has been fixed
5) feature python text transfer/evaluation is now super reliable and predictable, even over SSH
6) merges/contributions Elixir, SBT, Scheme.

Quick info about two interesting branches currently under development. Both should be considered alpha but at least the Ruby one was reported as usable.

1) Ruby's shitty and half-assed IRB integration was replaced with correctly configured Pry: https://github.com/wuub/SublimeREPL/tree/pry some info and instructions: https://github.com/wuub/SublimeREPL/iss ... nt-9963396

2) IPython with **autocomplete** https://github.com/wuub/SublimeREPL/tree/ipy

Thanks, but most of it is pretty basic stuff. Time consuming and often annoying (especially on windows) but basic.
I've never suspected that this thing will be still actively developed more than a year after release, in the beginning it was a simple telnet client... who knew, right? :)

BTW.

1.3.0 is out. It mostly just releases things described in previous post:
- IPython w/ autocomplete (linux&osx)
- http://pryrepl.org/powered Ruby REPL (linux/osx/windows)

When I run "SublimeREPL: Shell", bash whines as follows: "bash: no job control in this shell". Any idea how to fix this?

I was trying out SublimeREPL with ipython and pylab. The correct version of ipython appears to be called, but if I try and issue the "plot" command, the plot GUI hangs. Its something to do with the interaction between ipython and the plot GUI, as calling "savefig" to save the plot works as expected.

Code: Select all
Python 2.7.3 (default, Oct 29 2012, 18:09:15)
Type "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.

IPython 0.14.dev -- An enhanced Interactive Python.
?         -> Introduction and overview of IPython's features.
%quickref -> Quick reference.
help      -> Python's own help system.
object?   -> Details about 'object', use 'object??' for extra details.

In [1]: %pylab

Welcome to pylab, a matplotlib-based Python environment [backend: MacOSX].
For more information, type 'help(pylab)'.

In [2]: plot(arange(1.,10.))
Out[2]: [<matplotlib.lines.Line2D at 0x10fe699d0>]

In [3]: savefig('boo.pdf')

In [4]:

Any hints as to what I could be doing wrong? It would be great to be able to use pylab from w/in Sublime.

Any news on the possibility of iPython on Windows? That would be so great! :D

Apologies if this is the wrong location for this post.

I currently use Sublime Text 2 (awesome) with SublimeREPL to code and run Python.

Is there a way of forcing the syntax colouring to a custom setting in the REPL window?
Is it possible to have a different setting for the window that runs the script and the one that emulates the interactive console?

Thanks

Ben
