Any way to get last command?

Hi. I wonder is there any api to get the last executed command?

Search command_history on http://www.sublimetext.com/docs/2/api_reference.html.
However when I tried to use it some times ago I didn't found it very reliable and sometimes even crash ST2 when using True for the second parameter.
