Linux: preview, terminal, appcenter questions

#1

hi,

First - sublime is an awesome app ! - especially on linux where we see very few polished apps.

Got three questions:

Is there any way i can use external preview tool for pictures/pdf etc on linux ?
Is there any way i can use linux terminal instead of python console ?
Why not sell sublime via ubuntu’s app center ? It’s not so small market these days.

best regards,

For question 2, It’s not exactly integrated like it sound like you want, but you can try the Terminal plugin which opens a terminal at the current file location.

With regards to the app centre (the same goes for the OS X App Store), the policies there tend to be too restrictive: it’s only possible to sell single platform software in the store (i.e., there’s no way to purchase on Ubuntu and then somehow activate your purchase on a Mac), and that’s not something I’m happy doing.

I am trying to do this on Mac OS using python, the shell and applescript:

It basically sends the selected code to the iTerm window (or R or Stata) on Mac OS and you can run python in your terminal…
I guess it doesn’t solve your particular problem but it points at possible solutions.
