[bug] OS X: Backspace via VNC triggers Delete Left Right

[bug] OS X: Backspace via VNC triggers Delete Left Right

Postby Evan Jones on Fri Oct 21, 2011 8:00 pm

This is a weird one, so feel free to ignore it, but it is annoying me. When I'm connected to my Mac via VNC (the Remote Desktop in System Preferences) and I hit backspace, it sometimes triggers the "delete left right" macro. When I'm typing normally on my Mac's keyboard, I don't get this.

Reproduce:

1. Connect to the mac via remote desktop.
2. Type the following in a new document:

line 1
line 2

3. Position the cursor at the beginning of line 2.
4. Press the backspace key.

Result:

line 1ine2

Expected result:

line 1line2

When I hit backspace, I see the Tools menu flash blue, so I assume it is triggering the macro for some reason. Any idea why this could occur, or if there might be a workaround?
