Command to select just-entered text

Command to select just-entered text

Postby classic695 on Tue Nov 01, 2011 2:06 pm

Is there a command for selecting just-entered text that could be bound to a key, such as ESC? I frequently type something, and then decide to cut/copy it, and so a command like this (which is bound to ESC in Smalltalk-80 and Rob Pike's sam text editor and to [<-LEAP][LEAP->] in Jef Raskin's SwyftWare/Canon Cat EDDE) is sorely missing for me.

I like the idea
Problem is ESC key is used by a lot of commands, I'm not really sure how to play nicely with that, but I will look into and let you know.
