Every time I start ST2, I press “Ctrl + O” to open a file, and poof! It takes me to some very deep-seeded Win config directory. Is there any way to set a default open path… like maybe Desktop or something? Thanks!

One way is to set the Start In path of the shortcut you use to start Sublime. You can set it to your desktop or your common projects folder, or My Documents, or a thumb drive or whatever you like. To set it to your desktop, use %USERPROFILE%\Desktop for the Start In path.
