real terminal emulation (initially probably only on osx/linux)

Sounds like an ambitious endeavor. Good luck.

Actually a full blown nightmare on windows. But it would solve sooooooo many problems.

If SublimeREPL on Windows could support cygwin, that could open up a lot of opportunities.

This is one of the things that will probably require terminal emulation to be useful.

Pull request has been sent -> SublimeREPL should soon be available through PackageControl.

I'm working on terminal emulation, I think that I'll be able to show some alpha quality version soon.
I'm thinking about doing a limited alpha first, so if any OSX/Linux ST2 users are willing to participate in those tests, please send me an e-mail or write about it here.

Hi,
Thanks for this plugin, I've been trying to use CodeSniffer (for PHP) working inside Sublime Text. I've make a new config for REPL that is working fine
Code: Select all
[
     {
        "id": "tools",
        "children":
        [{
            "caption": "SublimeREPL",
            "mnemonic": "r",
            "id": "SublimeREPL",
            "children":
            [
                {
                    "command": "repl_open",
                    "caption": "CodeSniffer Joomla",
                    "mnemonic": "j",
                    "args":
                    {
                        "type": "subprocess",
                        "encoding": "utf8",
                        "cmd": ["phpcs", "--standard=Joomla", "--tab-width=4", "$file"],
                        "cwd": "$file_path",
                        "syntax": "Packages/PHP/PHP.tmLanguage",
                        "external_id": "phpcs"
                    }
                }
            ]
        }]
    }
]

I hope this can be util for someone. You are free to incorporate it to SublimeREPL.

Thanks.

Does anyone know how to get rid of those 'fabulous' region borders? ;)

Other than that (and some important performance improvements; and missing keybindings, and configurations; and compatibility with text-transfer) terminal emulation is functional! Publishable alpha seems to be on not-so-distant horizon.

Edit:
I'm using view.add_regions() and a custom tmTheme file to emulate terminal colors. Sublime however:
a) draws regions as rounded rectangles, which is unfortunate, but tolerable,
b) adds a marvellous border around each region. And the border color seems to be an inversion of FG itself, no matter what combination of sublime.DRAW_* flags I choose. Any help JPS?

That looks amazing. Is it cross-platform?

Just when you think people couldn't squeeze anything else out of plugins and push it any further, you see something like this. Wow!
