Regarding subpixel geometry

#1

I recently switched to a monitor with a BGR subpixel layout, which looks suitably terrible with RGB subpixel algorithms. I’ve disabled subpixel antialiasing in favor of greyscale, but the it’s not as clear as I’m used to, and the little jaggies along the letters are distracting.

Can I use Sublime’s subpixel AA with reversed subpixel geometry? If all else fails I’ll get some bolts and affix it to the wall upside-down, but I’d rather not.

I’ve also tried using DirectWrite, which is rather lovely, but still uses the RGB layout (even though the monitor is set to BGR in some obscure control panel setting).

I’m using Windows 7 64-bit, Sublime beta build 2181.

You’d need to find a way to change the system default to BGR, as when the text is rasterised, it’s done to an offscreen buffer not associated with any particular monitor. Unfortunately, I’m not aware of how this can be done under Windows, or even if it’s possible at all.

Oh, so the text is rasterized externally? I might be able to work with that then, thanks.
