I installed the package control and when I tried to install packages I got the following error

It looks like Package Control can’t retrieve the list of packages. A lot of people have this problem (including myself) and there are a lot of reasons this could be happening so there isn’t any general fix.

Please try to look at the console (ctrl + ~) to find out what exactly is going on. Also you can check out the issues on GitHub for possible solutions, such as this.
