How to keep files open when switching projects

#1

Is it possible to keep certain files open when switching between projects?

I don’t think so.

If you have tabs showing, you can pull the tabs out into new windows, and then when you switch projects the other windows won’t close.
This doesn’t work if you use the sidebar instead of tabs, though, cause you can’t drag out sidebar items. It also means you have to do it manually every time.

Hmmm that is definitely a limitation…Many times I want to do alot of copy and pasting from a file to multiple project files so now it forces me to reopen the file over and over again each time I switch a project…

Can’t you just keep both projects open?

This works currently for me.

  • Open a project.
  • Open a file.
  • CMD+CTRL+P to select another project.
  • Open a file in that project.
  • CMD+CTRL+P back to the first project.
  • Files stay open.

I don’t have any plugins or anything for this, so I would think it’s an out of the box feature.
