Text selection on OSX

Text selection on OSX

Postby bartb on Tue Oct 23, 2012 11:42 am

In OSX (maybe other OS's) you can select text in the following manner:
When you double-click on a piece of text you can extend the selection by using the Shift key and either the Right or Left Arrow key.
The initial arrow-key press determines the direction of the selection (right or the left), when more text is selected.

I hope my explanation makes sense.

This feature works everywhere in OSX and I love the intuitive way it works.
I really really miss this in ST. (Even works in BBEdit)
Perhaps it's a setting I haven't found yet, but if it is not available I would like to request this feature. (I posted it here before I make an official request on Echo)

ps. Just learned about Sublime Text last week and absolutely love it. Thank you, thank you!!

Sublime doesn't support this behaviour out of the box. It could be added as a plugin, but it's very hard to distinguish selections made with the mouse from other selections, so you may run into trouble there.
