Tab indentation (mac, windows)

#1

So I’ve installed Sublime on my mac and windows pc’s with the SFTP plugin. I’m editing files stored on a linux server.

If I open up a current file (stored on the linux server) on the mac and hit tab, it puts in tabs (noted by the lines if you select the text).

If I open up the same file on the pc, create a new line and start tabbing, it uses spaces for the indentation.

Though if I open a brand new file on windows and start tabbing, it DOES use tabs. I’m not sure why it’s not using tabs in my other file.

I haven’t changed any default settings (translate_tabs_to_spaces is false).

Anyone have an idea on why this is?

I’m learning node.js and thought I’d try sublime text 2 since i hear a lot of people raving about it. In the Jade templates, you need to use either all spaces or all tabs, which is why this is a problem for me.

I’m using 2.0.1 on both systems.

Thanks much for the help!

After learning more about Sublime Text and what it could do. I saw there was a Jade package for syntax highlighting available. I installed it and it fixed the problem! My tabs in jade files are now actual tabs on windows.
