Pressing Esc causes document to jump

#1

Has anyone found that pressing Escape to dismiss the Find Panel causes the document to jump to another part of the document?

Here’s how I reproduce it:

  1. Place the cursor at the top of a scrollable document.
  2. Press Ctrl+F, and enter a piece of text that is found mid-document. The found text is highlighted and the document has scrolled to centre that text.
  3. Click somewhere near the highlighted text to drop a cursor.
  4. Press Esc to hide the Find Panel.

If there are any workarounds I’ve love to hear it… (no response from userecho thus far) thanks!

I have this issue as well, but have found work-arounds.

I’ve found that on a Mac this doesn’t happen when you use Cmd+f, Cmd+i, Cmd+Shift+i, I have found it happens with other methods of using it, but it doesn’t happen with these for me.

Great, how did you get around it?

Thanks!

Like I said, using the keybindings above (if you leave them as default), doesn’t cause the problem for me.
