Often I will be typing and want to switch to another file, so I press CTRL+P and start typing the name of the file I want to open, only to find that by the time the panel has appeared the first part of the search string I typed goes into the main edit window, and the rest into the Quick Panel.

I’m not the quickest typist, and this probably has much to do with my aging PC, but it does happen often enough that I’d be a very happy man if it was something simple to remedy.
