Consistent crash with Go To Symbol

Very often, if I bring up the go to symbol command palette (Cmd-R) type in some characters, realize it typed the wrong thing and try to EDIT what I typed I get a beach ball and a crash (log attached).
It's in my sig, but in case" ST 2.01 build 2017, OS 10.8.2
