Cannot type Chinese under Ubuntu + iBus

Cannot type Chinese under Ubuntu + iBus

Postby yookoala on Thu Nov 29, 2012 3:41 am

I am using the trial version of Sublime Text 2. It looks great, but it has a critical problem.
Seems it does not support Chinese typing with iBus.
Can you please take a look at the issue?

My environment:
  • Ubuntu 12.10
  • Gnome 3, a.k.a. Gnome Shell (3.6.1-0ubuntu1.1 0)
  • iBus (1.4.1-7ubuntu1)

I enabled the Chinese input method. It types Chinese characters correctly.
But when I type in Sublime, it only show English character.

I don't like jumping across editors. Sublime Text 2 seems to be a good choice.
And I really want to buy your licence, but I need it to work for Chinese first.
(or I couldn't use it at all)

Thanks a lot.

You could use InputHelper to type Chinese... It generates a simple dialog when you use ctrl+shift+z, in which you can type Chinese.
