Even if Sublime never got another update, it's one of the best tools I've ever used... and I'd keep using it.

Well, I took my rMBP to an Apple Specialist. They replaced the screen, and I picked it up the next day. No signs of image retention. Painless experience. Now I have to get back to work...

I'm not expecting Sublime 3 any time soon, or free updates for life.

But the lack of communication is very concerning for me. Even if Jon just let us know he's going on holiday for a year... that'd be cool :)

The last blog post was in June last year.

Congratulations!

At first I was upset when I checked the model of my screen and found out it's LG, but luckily I haven't experienced any problems yet (~3 months of use). Probably I should do the checkerboard test, but I don't want to make a fuss without any practical reason.

Do not get me wrong. I think this is the best editor ever, but unfortunately is an one man show. And it's clear that communication between provider -> customer is an issue.
Have you ever thought what happens if for any circumstance the author stop the software development?

Yup. I'd have an editor that works just fine.

I guess people are a little branded by textmate like editors. Textmate itself suffered from bad support, E suffered from bad support, some others I already forgot about did and now the development of sublime slows down.

BUT in my opinion there is a HUGE difference between these projects and Sublime: While every version of E introduced new bugs and unofficially never got out of beta, Sublime is major. Heck, I licensed Sublime over a year ago and always run the latest nightly build and even with that I did not have ONE single crash or anything like that in a year. Sublime runs just fine and does everything I knew it does when I paid a few bucks for the licence.

So start getting productive and stop yelling ;-)

As always - just my 0.02$

What about Sublime Text 5? I refuse to pay anything and commit to a relationship with this editor until I see what features I can expect in 2016.
