Sublime + Wine

Sublime + Wine

Postby yoshimi on Wed Apr 30, 2008 3:46 am

Has anyone attempted to get Sublime working with wine? I haven't tried it yet and am interested to see if anyone else has. I read in another post that a Linux version was down the road and can't wait for that. Linux is in serious need of a good text editor.

Hello yoshimi,

and welcome here !

Sublimator is right, you can easily run Sublime under Wine, but you must use one of the latest versions.
But it is difficult to use it for production because ie you won't be able to launch your Python scripts. That's why I've asked Jon for a Linux version...but I'm the only one for the moment, I'm hoping other Linux users request for it too.

We can then develop Sublime plugins like Sublimator do so well.

See you.

Sublimator,

Nice too see your reply as I totally agree with your ideas, but wasn't able to write them like you did in a correct English.

InType and e have made promises for Linux, but since (more than a year now) there's simply nothing at all, even on their todo list.
I'm afraid Sublime takes the same route, but I'm hoping Jon will heard us.

As you said Linux "passionate users" are often programmers, so they may help a lot in development process.
Another possibility now is to convince Jon's wife :)

See you.
