Any chance the Python syntax could have “translate_tabs_to_spaces” enabled by default? It’s a tad more “Pythonic” (pep8 and all), and it looks like it matches your default preferences anyway (all the Sublime Python source seems to be 4 space indents as well). “detect_indentation” almost makes this not necessary, except for the case of creating new Python files still need to be manually flipped to 4 space indenting…
