Graphics artifiacts on ubuntu 12.04 with ST2

#1

I have a fully updated ubuntu 12.04 desktop running xfce (no unity) and after installing updates, I get many for redraw artifacts make ST2 pretty much unusable on the screen. It is the whole window, not just a specific area of the main window. I am using the ATI fglx driver on a 64bit box with a triple head.

16.299] (II) Loading /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/xorg/extra-modules/modules/drivers/fglrx_drv.so
16.331] (II) Module fglrx: vendor="FireGL - AMD Technologies Inc."
16.331] compiled for 1.4.99.906, module version = 9.0.2
16.331] Module class: X.Org Video Driver

Anyone else seeing this? When files are open it can be worse. Is there other information that would be helpful?

I have the same problem  can’t do anything with that. Only can switch to intel grpahic or change drivers.

Same problem here. I have gnome-session-fallback installed, and everything looks fine in “Unity”, and in “GNOME Classic”. But in “GNOME Classic (no effects)” (which is what I use), I see the same screen artifacts.

The fix by serialhex in this thread (File change detection) seems to have worked for me.
