I’ve encountered a bug which has over time accumulated to about two days of lost work. Please understand that backups don’t help here, since I cannot commit half-done work to shared repos every five minutes.

I’ve been working on a dev server over an SFTP mount on Linux. Sometimes, when saving the file, ST2 crashes and immediately truncates the file to zero bytes. Reopening the editor shows an empty buffer. At first I thought this was an issue with save_on_focus_lost, but toggling the option has not had any effect so far.

How can I prevent this behavior in the future? I’m running ST2 with default configuration with Package Control and SublimeClang installed.
