Over-eager Command-D'er

#1

When using multi-select (Command-D), I often end up selecting 5 or 6 variables that I wish to rename, and then, in my haste, I end up selecting one I don’t wish to rename.

Is there any way to un-select or (even better) skip-a-selection when using Command-D? Intuitively, I’d think Shift-Command-D should unselect the last multi-selected item.

Anyone found a solution for this?

You can use Command-K, Command-D (Quick Skip Next) to skip the last item selected.

You can also use Ctrl/Command + U to step back through your Ctrl/Command + D selections.

Also, soft undo, which operates primarily on selection changes, is handy.

cmd+u on mac, ctrl+u on windows/linux
